Ceramic stands tend to be made for indoor use only. If you are looking for a stand to use outdoors you may want to choose a cast iron or metal outdoor umbrella stand as it will last longer. Some people will also choose weaved wicker although this is not suitable if you live in a very wet area. Ceramic umbrella stands are generally too fragile and are best used as interior stands or flower vases.
